The aim of these art classes is to provide students with the skills to achieve their creative goals.
Beginners are taught the formal elements of drawing and painting i.e. line, tone, shape, form and colour with tuition given in the technical skills of the main forms of media e.g. oils, acrylics, pastels, watercolour, gouache, charcoal, collage etc.
Students are encouraged to experiment and form their own style. They are also encouraged to research and explore the relevance of art history to their own work as they progress. The groups are open to people of all levels and are friendly, informal and of a size where one-to- one tuition is possible.
Rosie has been involved in art education since 1976 and has been running private art groups since 1991.

Hi,
I was driving past Belmont Tower today and noticed your sign.
I have looked at the schedule and realise I have missed quite a few classes.
I would be interested in the still life classes @£45 I realise I have missed the first session of this also, is it possible to attend the next two sessions of this workshop?
Many thanks

Hi, Rosie. I used to draw in pencils/charcoal and paint in acrylic in my younger days but with a family and a full-time job I gave up art some 37 years ago. Since retirement In 2016, I have gone back to drawing in pencil, charcoal and pastel. I am interested particularly in portraiture and would like to progress to oil or acrylic painting although I would probably also benefit from some formal tutoring in pastel. I would like to know if you have any workshops in the summer months from June to August and express my interest for your classes in the autumn. Anna

Hi Anna, Thank you for your email. The only workshop during the summer months is the Donegal sketching holiday Aug 4 – Aug 7. Regular classes will begin again on September 11, 12, 13. In addition I will probably run a portrait workshop in the autumn. Wednesday evening would be best for drawing/painting/portraiture or Thursday afternoon for oil painting. I will send out details of the new courses around the beginning of August. They will also be posted on the website. Hope this helps, Kind regards Rosie

Hi Rosie,
I would be very interested in the life drawing classes. I know they’re not running at the moment but how would they be advertised if they resume.
Thanks Janet
